Job Overview

Sales Manager is a direct sales leadership role, where you would be contributing to the company's growth objectives in the chosen African markets. You would be responsible for developing new business opportunities with new and existing accounts by positioning the company's offering to the customers. We have a suite of products and services covering end-to-end solutions in distribution-tech and retail-tech to cater to CPG/FMCG client requirements across the spectrum from warehouse to consumer, and you would be responsible for customer's solution discovery by being their consultative partner in their journey. This is a sales quota bearing position, so your key objective will be for bringing in new sales, as well as growing business within any existing assigned accounts.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Generate new business within CPG & FMCG vertical enterprise clients; Identify specific prospects/partners to approach, communicate specific product value proposition for their business, and establish long-term, successful partnerships.
  • Drive management reporting and CRM processes to ensure sales forecast is accurate
  • Understand and be responsible for customer needs, assess current challenges, and develop action plans to improve the sales pipeline.
  • Build the sales pipeline and set overall sales strategy of the company to support the growth of the company in assigned territory
  • Set strategy to acquire channel partners in different geographies and drive sales through them.
  • Identify competition and build a proactive action plan
  • Responsible for working with clients to identify their needs and work with Product team for tailored sales solutions.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B Sales and Business Development or Account Management for Enterprise Accounts of which the last 3-4 years are in the area of Supply Chain, Analytics, ERP, CRM, or software products for Retail and Distribution.
  • Candidates with existing strong enterprise account relationships within CPG & FMCG vertical will be preferred
  • Out of the total 8 year’s experience, a minimum of 4 year’s experience in B2B enterprise sales in a SaaS/ Technology products organization Exposure to FMCG/Retail industry is essential
  • Comfortable conducting cold call / initiate new dialogues / hold conversations with Client / Prospect / Partner Organisations.
  • Insightful experience in DMS & SFA Automation, Field Sales Management and Field Deployment, implementation & Support in FMCG and IT.
  • Strong business and functional knowledge in sales & distribution processes. Understand and responsible for customer needs, assess current challenges and develop action plans to overcome those challenges.
  • Any experience in Data Analytics within FMCG vertical, will be an added advantage
