Our Client an award-winning KATO category A tour operating company is seeking to fill the role of a Camp Manager for a property in Mara.

Role Reports to Operations Manager

The role:

• Demonstrates and promotes a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and employees.
  • Manages labor standards and property level expenses to achieve maximum flow through to the bottom line profit (unnecessary engagement of casuals et cetera).
  Participates and monitors monthly inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Promotes 100% guest satisfaction throughout property.
• Ensures that all guest related issues are resolved in a manner consistent with the company’s goals and objectives.
• Motivates and gives direction to all employees.
• Communicates all policies and procedures to entire staff
• Ensures that employee related issues are resolved in a manner consistent with company policies.
• Inspects and documents repairs and cleanliness of property to ensure optimum upkeep and repair, room cleanliness and overall property appearance.
• Provides other relief or back-up duties as needed at the camp including front desk coverage, housekeeping, and other duties to ensure the optimum operation of the property.
• Directly manages the camp staff on a daily basis. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of his/her unit.
• Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Relevant Degree/Diploma
• 5 consecutive years of  experience working in High-end exclusive camps in a similar role
• Ability to work with the local community
• Strong administrative and staff management skills
• Ability to work in a remote environment with limited access to resources and still maintain the quality of the guest experience.
