IML Automation & Instrumentation Engineer
Reporting to: Production & Engineering Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
- Identification of new opportunities for automation within the manufacturing process
- Implement engineering solutions to solve manufacturing challenges, customer requirements, and product quality improvements from concept to commissioning
- Program new PLC/HMI devices as well as maintain and update existing PLC/HMI systems.
- Provide training and guidance to all employee levels in the operation and maintenance of new equipment.
- Improve quality, cycle-time and profitability in the IML manufacturing process.
- Identify root cause of reported issues including supporting investigation, analysis, and help prioritize corrective actions and preventative actions (CAPA)
- Develop and maintain clear and accurate documentation of automation equipment or processes particularly in the IML Line
- Design Preventive, Predictive maintenance strategies, procedures and methods to ensure operational reliability and availability of the plant and ensure optimal machine, mold and utilities are available for achieving 🔼95% efficiency for IML
Academic & Professional Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BTECH)
- Certified Automation Engineer (PLC, SCADA & HMI)
Knowledge & Experience
- Manufacturing Automation Engineer with over 5 years’ experience specifically in IML, Instrumentation and Robotics
- At least 5 years proven hands on experience in Maintenance & Engineering in a top tier Plastics Manufacturing based in Asia, Middle East and Africa.
- Experience with electro-mechanical and electrical assembles in the automation environment.
- Quality Management System (QMS) and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) exposure.
- Understanding and functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, vision systems. Electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics
- Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping)
- Equipment Engineering, Technical, Preventive, Breakdown, Predictive and Spare Parts management.
- Installation / Erection & Commissioning of new/upgradation projects
- Health and Safety Management
- Maintenance of molds & tools.
- Energy Conservation Management
