TRADE MARKETING MANAGER
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer
Job Purpose: Trade Marketing Manager is to plan and execute trade-specific marketing strategies to enhance product visibility, drive sales, and strengthen relationships with trade partners.
Functional Outputs / Activities per key performance area
- Develop and implement effective trade marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities and threats.
- Collaborate with sales, category management, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment of trade marketing initiatives.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns to support product launches, increase sales, and achieve market share goals.
- Coordinate with sales teams to develop promotional calendars and ensure timely implementation of promotions.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of promotions, providing insights for future improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers, distributors, and other trade partners.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and preferences, tailoring trade marketing initiatives accordingly.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and visibility in the trade channel.
- Develop point-of-sale (POS) materials, displays, and merchandising solutions to enhance brand presence in retail environments.
- Conduct regular store visits to assess the effectiveness of in-store displays and promotional materials.
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify industry trends, opportunities, and threats.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on the performance of trade marketing initiatives, including recommendations for improvement.
Financial Management
- Manage the trade marketing budget effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and maximum return on investment.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reports related to trade marketing activities.
Risk Management
Identify the department’s risks, their various mitigations and keep track of them.
Compliance
- Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of activities within the country.
- Adherence to all company and In Country Policies and Procedures.
- Prepare and submit Trade Marketing reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration preferred.
- 6 to 8 years relevant experience in FMCG Industry preferably in Brand Management/ Trade Marketing
- Comprehensive understanding of the in-country consumer market with strong acumen for numbers.
