Job Purpose
To develop and implement maintenance plans, and to oversee the installation and
commissioning of new machines.

Key Responsibilities of the job:
i. Interpreting diagrams, drawings, specifications and plans
ii. Troubleshooting malfunctions and performing repairs
iii. Disassembly and assembly of machine and components
iv. Measuring and marking out materials for fabrication
v. Cutting, grinding and welding of metals and other materials
vi. Setting up tools and machinery for fabrication
vii. Documenting processes and maintaining records
viii. Optimizing plant efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
ix. Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies
x. Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to statutory requirements
xi. Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of machinery and equipment
xii. Operating specialised tools and machinery

Academic and/or Professional Qualifications:
i. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
