The Commercial Manager is responsible for executing and driving the commercial and business development strategy of the company. This includes establishing the necessary infrastructure to support commercialization and overseeing the execution of key strategies. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, product knowledge, and strategic thinking to ensure successful business operations and growth.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the commercial function of the company, including sales, marketing, business development, customer experience, branding, and customer support.
- Provide strategic leadership in defining the company’s commercial growth path, ensuring alignment with business goals and profitability objectives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies and plans to support the company’s growth and market positioning.
- Oversee all commercial activities, ensuring smooth integration of sales, marketing, product management, and customer solutions.
- Manage the full customer and sales lifecycle, ensuring a positive and efficient customer experience.
- Establish and maintain a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to streamline customer interactions and data management.
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure smooth and efficient invoicing and payment processes.
- Monitor market trends, conduct competitor analysis, and identify growth opportunities.
- Lead commercial research to support decision-making and market strategy development.
- Collaborate with senior management on strategy development, budget formulation, and overall implementation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing, Commerce (with a marketing focus), Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior commercial or marketing role of which 3 years in the shipping and/or freight logistics industry, with a solid understanding of the import container lifecycle, documentation, and associated charges.
- Strong understanding of market research techniques, data analysis, and statistical methods.
