Area Sales Representative – Food Category

Our client, an FMCG in Nairobi is seeking to hire a results-driven Area Sales Representative to drive sales and market growth within an assigned territory. The ideal candidate should have experience selling food products or FMCG products and strong knowledge of distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and other trade channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive sales and achieve set targets within the assigned territory.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, retailers, and key GT customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage.
• Conduct regular market visits to monitor sales, stock levels, pricing, and competitor activities.
• Ensure effective product distribution and availability across the assigned area.
• Follow up on customer orders, payments, and outstanding accounts.
• Execute promotions and trade marketing activities.
• Prepare regular sales and market reports.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2 - 4 years’ experience in sales, preferably within the food/FMCG sector.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Good understanding of the assigned territory and FMCG distribution channels.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and customer relationship skills.
• Must be proactive, target-driven, and willing to travel extensively within the assigned area.
• A valid BCE driving license.
