Head of Transport

Our client seeks an experienced, results-driven Head of Transport to provide strategic and operational leadership for the transport function. The successful candidate will oversee fleet operations, transportation planning, logistics coordination, cost management, compliance, and service delivery to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective transportation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement transport strategies aligned with business objectives.

Oversee fleet operations, vehicle utilization, maintenance, and replacement planning.

Manage transport budgets, operating costs, fuel consumption, and cost optimization initiatives.

Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Monitor fleet performance, service delivery, and key operational performance indicators.

Lead and develop transport teams, drivers, and other operational personnel.

Coordinate transportation schedules, route planning, and resource allocation.

Manage relationships with transport service providers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Identify operational risks and implement measures to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.

Prepare regular operational reports and provide recommendations to management.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

 8–10 years of relevant experience in transport, fleet, or logistics management, with significant leadership experience.

Proven experience managing large or complex fleet operations.

Strong knowledge of fleet management systems, transport regulations, safety, and compliance requirements.

Demonstrated expertise in budget management, cost control, operational planning, and performance management.

Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong proficiency in transport management systems and relevant reporting tools.
